Captain Dan Flynn is from St. Louis, MO. He was commissioned through Army ROTC in 2008.
His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Kansas. His military education includes the Military Police Officer Basic and Advanced Courses and the Anti-Terrorism Officer Basic Course.
CPT Flynn’s previous assignments include Commander of the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 22d Military Police Battalion (CID), assistant operations officer with the 42d Military Police Brigade, and Provost Marshal, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division. In 2010, he deployed to Afghanistan as a member of 1BCT, 4ID where he served as a platoon leader, assistant operations officer and chief of operations in Kandahar City. His most recent assignment was the Plans Officer for 6th Military Police Group (CID) stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington State. CPT Flynn has been as Assistant Professor of Military Science with the Gateway Battalion since January of 2016.
CPT Flynn’s awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (1OLC), National Defense Service Medal, Afghan Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon and the NATO Medal.
